Abstract
Ecological assessment on natural resources was observed concerning the qualities of water bodies in the riverine and population of fish fauna in Chindwin River, Sithu village segment, Yinmarbin Township, Sagaing Region, Myanmar, from December 2018 to November 2019. Total of 29756 individuals, 45 species of fish belonging to 36 genera, 18 families and nine orders were recorded. The highest number of fish species were found in February, March and October (44 each) and the lowest number was June (32). The highest number of fish individuals was found in March (8164) and the lowest was November (503). According to the result of relative abundance, 20 species were found as uncommon, 18 species as common and seven species as very common. Physicochemical parameters were systematically analyzed for three seasons per year; February for cold, May for summer, and August for raining season respectively; almost all results are within the limit of W.H.O criteria except highest turbidity in February and August, and water color was higher than 50 in three seasons. The water quality was analyzed at the laboratory of Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Mandalay City Development Committee (MCDC). All physicochemical parameters were still chemically potable for various fish diversity in aquatic ecosystem.
