Innovative solutions on aquatic and fisheries resources of Mekong River in Myanmar regarding SDGs

Abstract
There are target exploited fishes were observed among important Mekong fish species; Three spot gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus), Hemibagrus spilopterus are very common; Siamese mud carp (Henicorhynchus siamensis), Bony lip barb (Osteochilus vittatus), Black shark minnow (Labeo chrysophekadion) are still common but Ompok, Macrognathus, Puntioplites, Scaphognathops, Mekongina are not common as well as Pangasius spp., Helicophagus spp., Yasuhikotakia spp., Probarbus spp., are very rare in Mekong River in Myanmar where water quality was also analyzed by focusing on physicochemical indicator in order to inform this knowledge to key stakeholders, local indigenous groups and academic institutions through this research outreach activities. Physico- chemical indicators of water resources were analyzed from 2018 to 2019; the result is chemically potable by comparing with the standardization of World Health Organization (WHO) with two values, desirable as well as imperative values, therefore, some fisheries resources are still common but exceptional cases for some of few species may be rare, endangered, and threatened due to barriers of developmental projects along Mekong River. There are no almost negative impacts of water resources on aquatic life especially for fisheries but vital importance to be ensuring / monitoring riverine ecosystem and its sanitation in Mekong River regarding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
