The Sustainable Development Goal number 6 of the United Nations states that “Clean water and sanitation: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”. The goal of Viet Nam Socio-Economic Development Strategy on supply of clean water and sanitation for rural areas up to 2020 is to ensure that all rural inhabitants use clean water of at least 60 liters per person per day, use hygienic latrines, good personal hygiene and keep the village and commune in sanitation. As a corporate leader in CSR in Vietnam, Coca-Cola has an unwavered commitment to participating in locally relevant water replenishment projects that support Vietnamese communities and local ecosystems. Since 2008, the Coca-Cola Foundation and Coca-Cola Vietnam have been partnering with the Research Center for Family Health & Community Development (CEFACOM), a Vietnamese NGO, to provide safe water and sanitation improvements to school children and community people in three geographical areas of Vietnam - Thuong Tin district of Hanoi city in the North, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city in the Central, and Thu Duc district of Ho Chi Minh city in the South.
